Egypt in the market

In our markets, every day is easier to find exotic products that come from distant countries. Egypt, in return, is geographically very close to Catalonia, and we share the same Mediterranean sea. Egypt’s food and farm production has been very similar to ours, which is known as Mediterranean diet, which is rich in cereals, fruits and vegetables, otherwise meat and fish is not frequent. But being in another continent made, from many time ago, these products are combined with others exotic ones and not usual here.

Do you know which kinds of food are common in the Egypcian diet already from the pharaoh time? We take the basket and go shopping to prepare some these normal dishes en the ancient Egypt’s tables.
